    ... passed the Welcome to Arizona sign. It's always fun to drive on I-40 through Arizona as we pass all the old Route 66 roadside attractions. Only in Arizona will you find a teepee on the side of the road. It was a hot drive and so when we got to Flagstaff the trees and cooler temperatures were welcomed! All too soon we started into the Valley and felt the heat increase by the minute.

    ... and Austin, two young firefighters at a remote fire and police station. They gave us some local history and lore. A few mile up the road was where Goodyear had paid $25M for a big chunk of land back in the 1940's to grow cotton so that they cold make tires for the military.     ... and so they just held everyone in front of yet another gate until everything was complete.
