... there we decided to give our necks a break and head out to Bolivar Flats. On the beach we found BLACK TERNS, LEAST TERNS, PIPING PLOVERS (doing courtship displays) and SNOWY PLOVER. We then headed down Oil Field Road and saw a bunch of new shorebirds, including STILIT SANDPIPER, WILSON'S PHALAROPE, and BAIRD'S SANDPIPER.

We found Village Creek State Park more easily than some. We were greeted in a friendly manner by the girl at the entry. Since I have a Texas State Parks Card, we get half off of any second night's fee. It has really paid off for us.
