... own rabbitry and knows a lot about them.
They disliked the car ride and I disliked saying goodbye.
Due to construction, we drove around Kansas City for 2 hours.
Celebrated Nick's birthday by going out for drinks at a chill bar.

... Also, I'm beginning to realize its not just PA that smells like a big pile of manure but pretty much every gas station we stop at. Can't wait to get to those mountains!! Lincoln was a ghost town when we got there not much to do or see. The hotel was similarly empty. My extremely exciting day came to end with a viewing of part I of the csi trilogy. I bet you can hardly wait for tomorrow's update...

... Where hay bales out number humans and cattle out number hay bales. Where dual wheel pickups are king. Where 5 plus miles views across fields are common. And where corn rules.
This drive may have added a couple hours to our trip but we saw what most tourists don't. Pictures we have, bu they are in the camera which is down in the truck. I'll try to get them uploaded tomorrow night.
In February of 2009 I was living in Orlando and unhappy in my current career. The downturn in the economy hit my industry really hard. I wanted a break, but I wanted to do something incredible when I took that time off. I love to travel and there are so many places I couldn't go b/c of the lack of sufficient time off. I decided to plan a trip around the world. I began watching every Globe Trekker episode and researching ...
Omaha, Nebraska, United States ashleyduling... Church historic sites, the Choir and Orchestra loaded our buses for the sound check at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha, the site of our concert that evening. The Holland Center, completed in 2005, features the Kiewit Concert Hall, a magnificent 2,000 seat concert hall with tremendous acoustics.
Choir and Orchestra members were delighted to perform in this beautiful hall, the only indoor concert hall in which we would be performing on ...

In Dallas we again had plenty of time. The plane that was to take us on to Omaha was late arriving in Dallas, but they expedited the boarding process as much as they could and I think most of the time was made up by the time we arrived back in Omaha.
We got off the plane to be greeted by our sons. That was a nice way to come home after a long and really wonderful expedition. We really had no major problems ...
We woke up to 6" of new snow this morning. I went out and started shoveling, thinking about 90 degrees in Rio. Our neighbor did most of the drive with a blower so it did not take too long. We would not have been able to get the car through the berm the snow plow had left at the end of the drive, so I ...
Omaha, Nebraska, United States sjl901We are to leave tomorrow and it is snowing in Omaha. The forecast
started at 1-2 inches. Now it is up to 5-8, tapering off at noon. Our
flight is scheduled to leave at 3:15 so we may be okay if the morning
flights don't back up and if the flight comes in from Dallas so it can
return to Dallas. This is shaping up to be like the time we went to
Sedona and the morning flights canceled. The other bad part is we have
a tight connection in Miami.
