... and were quite perky, braving a supermarket and eating sandwiches for supper. We noticed it was 11pm and started making up the bed/s we have the option of two singles or a double. It was at this point we really stared missing Winnie; what luxury we have become accustomed to. Of course everything is more difficult when it's damp and dark. ... stuff again, and waited for three hours for another aircraft to become available, we did get a meal voucher. Finally boarded bound for Brisbane/ Auckland and because we were so late there were no spaces in Brisbane - Jet Star had pinched the space, so another wait on the Tarmac, we were beside ourselves, plus both still battling with the chest infections.
A very relieved ...
... but for a night, it'll do. We nipped to the shop to buy supplies for the aeroplane, and nipped to the cafe for lunch. The journey tomorrow is going to be an absolute nightmare. 24 hours travelling but we get there only two hours after we set off. So bizarre! Anyway, we went back to the hotel and watched TV all night, with pot noodle for tea. Preparing for student life!! 20/5 Leaving NZ. Rather upset. Not going to lie. It's been absolutely amazing. qualifying him to work on luxury super yachts. Yes! Another productivity tick

In the mean time I stuck my thumb out and smiled to the road heading northwar to Mount
Maunganui, a journey which would take me two days, 9 lifts and an accidental
visit to the captivating town of Napier, the art deco capital of the world.

... delights us and that is what keeps us coming back. So thank you New Zealand, thank you to all our Kiwi friends who make our stay so enjoyable. We already have plans to do it all again next year and in fact have a dinner invite from our new friends Jeff (you're in my space!) and Sue to sample some Haupuka (fish apparently!).
We are particularly sad to leave this time as we shall miss the Royal Visit - I'm sure Kate and Wills will be as upset as we are....
