... Back at the room we were both pretty tired so had an early night.
After a bit of a lie-in we wandered out for lunch - oops. Not far from our accommodation we found a Mexican restaurant which offered GF tacos. We both enjoyed it so we got a loyalty card and received a free taco! Afterwards we walked through one of the parks. There I demonstrated my mature side by playing on the swings and see-saw! Nicole even joined in briefly before giving me a "mum" ...
... we drove to the visitor centre that Matty remembers going to. There we managed to find out that there are 3 designated car parks around Piha (the surf area Matty used to spend a lot of time at). We decided to book on to one of those for 2 nights and figure the rest out after that. We headed to the car park and found it was more or less in the middle of a rainforest. ... north of Auckland. We had a lovely time. The 'barn' itself was amazing (hand built by Brian!) with fantastic views over the sea and surrounding country, as well as its own resident bull in an adjoining field and numerous birds. It was such a peaceful setting. When Anne drove back to Auckland on Sunday afternoon we continued north to Opua, taking the little car ferry to Russell, arranging to go back to them in Auckland for our last 2 nights in NZ. We stayed at a 'Top Ten' ...
