    Left Alamosa and went to the great sand dunes. Wonderful place, I highly recommend it. If you go bring your senior card, usual beach gear for wading in water and building sand castles and a flat float (air mattress). The water was cold but not as cold as I thought it would be.     ... and we reached Horsetooth rock where we took some photos. It was amazing- the view is insane. On one side its flat as far as you can see- the plains. The other side is an ongoing view of mountains. So bizarre! I also thought it funny that they called the start of the rockies the 'foothills' where I would just call them mountains haha.
