... day. The rest of the ride was mostly downhill but by the time we'd made it to Lompoc the bike lights were on and we still had a few miles of tricky traffic negotiation before making it to our campground on the other side of town. ... main entrées were served. Both meals came with a cast iron skillet of boiled, sliced then deep fried potatoes (very good) to share. I only had 3 slices. ½ through the meal I had to ask for a to-go-box which I filled to the brim with the more than ½ my ground sirloin, the abundance of onions and almost the whole skillet of potatoes (a quart of the left over soup too). Glad we have a fridge and microwave in our motel room, we now have dinner for ...

... cheaper. Also a cool box, as drinking the water when we were driving up to Solvang was disgusting - it was almost hot in the weather we have been having. However, now we have bought the cool box, the wweather will now become cold.A great dinner back at Shelagh and Karl's, they have really looked after us well. I did suggest that we should stay here for 4 weeks and then fly to New York, but no-one else thought it was a good idea.So tomorrow its ...
