The week between visiting Niagara Falls and heading down to Virginia was busy and passed in way too much of a blur! Hannah McCorrie had kindly offered to roadtrip with me down to Virginia and that was planned for Thursday the 4th of September. I had 8 days to make the most of catching up with everybody, seeing sights and building friendships.

Hannah wanted to take us to Paris for the afternoon. Paris, Ontario, that is! It was a quaint little town, the ever-present ...

My early European coach tours were reminiscent of the comedy "If This is Tuesday it Must be Belgium," a whirlwind of activity but mostly remembered as time on a bus. I thought there must be something better that gives you more time in fabulous destinations without it taking forever getting there. Well I discovered that there is - river cruising! I would have been happy to try to rest but food came ...

... we are away. Toronto, Jim and Julie are on vacation and we are heading your way! We remain cramped three in the row but the flight attendant tells us that there are a couple of vacant spots toward the back of the plane if anyone is interested in moving so our row-mate takes the offer and moves. We appreciate this and I am sure he does as well. The flight will be much more enjoyable for all concerned. I roam in and out of consciousness; Jim decides ...

      THE NECESSARY EVIL OF FLIGHT

... accident, I had never previously seen so many emergency vehicles--police, fire and ambulance--in one location. The incident must have been scant minutes before [maybe I should count my lucky stars] and all lanes were blocked.

Fortunately I was still at the exit for Winston Churchill Drive and was able to exit, just praying there was an interchange for the 401 [yes]. The 401 itself was not too bad. I arrived at Park 'n Fly just after 1600. The transfer, ...
