... the trams around the city.
Monday - day trip to Sintra
Tuesday - roam around the city some more then fly to Terceira, Azores (4 hours ahead of Louisville time).
I'll be in the Azores from 9/8 through 9/17 for work. Only thing on the agenda (other than my pesky job) for right now is a half day whale watching tour on ...
A short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."
Right.
... built the hotel that stands today in 1972 and named it after Dr. Galt.
After a quick coffee stop this morning, we walked around the downtown and happened upon the Art Car Weekend, an awesome display of crazy painted cars with things glued on them that lasted a good four blocks. Among my personal favorites were the dental car, the Wizard of Oz car, and the penny ...
... as that's all i plan on taking aside from my laptop/electronic backpack...Chad in general is anxious and nervous...kind of endearing...he's never been out of the country (not even Mexico and Canada, which in my book don't count anyway)...watching his eyes open to the world...the varying languages, cultures, real European food and the history or art is what I think will be most entertaining this time around....though ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States whoisjohngalt... 5 barges are commissioned to have fireworks set off from them too to really enhance the show and to make it easier to see from space. Ha ha.
It's all really worth it. The getting up early, paying $25 dollars for parking, the sun and all... The show is great and it brings out the little kid in you and makes good memories for kids all over the Kentuckiana region.
If you are in Louisville in late April... I totally suggest you go to Thunder Over Louisville. It's a blast!

... WV lies right on the border with Kentucky. Charleston is built on the Kanawha River at the base of the mountains. We saw barges piled high with coal ready to go down the river and trains with empty coal cars heading down toward the river. It also has a beautiful gold domed capital building that really stands out in the midst of the other buildings of the city. We crossed the Kanawha River four times while going through Charleston so it is a ...
Clarksville, Indiana, United States gabbeecOh the wonders of nature and nature-stream restoration projects I volunteer on. Bernheim offers an abundance of programs for schools and families that educate and allow you to help conserve some nature!
Also, this park has many, many hiking trails. Yay hiking! We all know how much I love that. :)
... a week. But if you go after 8PM be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes to get a table. It's totally worth it between the food, hookah, and atmosphere.
Wicks Pizza: Louisville's best pizza place. L-ville has a lot of pizzaria's. But wicks is the best. Nice big portions, with amazing ingredients. Plus, reasonably priced! I highly suggest it.
... Derby itself was a killer, and true to form i managed to once again not see a horse. But i did watch the race on the big screen, cos when i finally found a spot where i could see the finish line some girl that was 10foot tall forced herself to a perfect spot right in front of me and was not moving for my sweet aussie accent.
Louisville, Kentucky, United States katiemaree104... mind you, proclaimed to me her undying love and desire to give herself over to the passions that moved us both. Or something to that effect. As long as it ended with J in a harem girl outfit, I was satisfied. Exactly what role the murderous hell babies were going to play in my achieving that end is a mystery best chalked up to the hormone-engorged mechanisms of the teenage mind. So we set the date, and it was a much closer date than I really wanted in one way, but just not close enough ...
