1am: So now I'm feeling much better about this trip! =) Let's recap... after my last entry, I watched the Apprentice and then went to bed... about 10pm!! (or 9...ha). A half hour later my phone in my room rang and I stumbled to get it. It turned out to be Nigel (whom I've been emailing too) saying that him and someone else were going for a drink. Anchorage, Alaska, United States pamericas... to adventure and trouble. I mean you can encounter wild animals, get lost, find complete quiet, and get yourself into trouble if you get dumb. I find in my travels, that no matter how fascinating the art, the history, the beauty of the rural areas, the congeniality of the people, I need to get home to be where I can't control everything, people are few, and the land is wild and clean.

Visitors tell me that we're still friendly people here. I notice it when I return ...

They had a great time.

We then had a delicious wild Alaskan salmon with lowbush cranberry pecan relish dinner before Bobbi came up to work on the photos and John and David went shopping. It is early to bed tonight! Have a blessed evening.
Anchorage, Alaska, United States storylady7... not seen it - other than awe-inspiring. There are no words that can quite capture it, but my camera and I will be trying! Anchorage is not snowy (well, given that it is on sea level and it is late May) - it is flat and kinda reminds me of a large East Texas town (minus the mountains in the background). The daylight bit will definitely take some getting used to. The picture included is from my hotel room ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States jennasmithAnd so, after our fishing adventures in Valdez, it was time for the long 6-hour drive back to Anchorage as we came to the end of an adventurous 2-3 weeks in Alaska. We didn't take too kindly to Anchorage when we first arrived from Seattle but it's a nice enough place and we certainly grew to like it. We had a nice time hanging out with friends we made in Katmai, John and Margot, who also introduced us to some ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States mattersdorff... Die Tour ist abgeschlossen he he he. Ich werde mir die Stadt und Umgebung genauer anschauen, gibt ne Menge zu ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States seppOn our last day, back in Anchorage, we took a tour around the city,
rented a car and drove along the seward scenic hwy, visiting the Alaska
Wildlife Conservation Center. This is a wildlife refuge for the animals
native to alaska that for one reason or another cannot be returned to
the wild, so they make this their home. I have to say this ...
Anchorage, Alaska, United States gnatalia... apart into a million pieces 3 miles in and the bike was thrown into the bushes for later. Irene rode jason's bike the rest of the way. Irene is 5'5". Jason is 6'2". Needless to say, the bike was uncomfortable. And by mile 10 she was pushing and cursing the bike and her sore behind towards the cabin. Irene made it in time. Jason decided to walk the rest of the way. He moves pretty ...
