Smooth run through LAX immigration and customs and Erin picked us up at 7:20am. An orientation drive around the local area then we dropped Erin at work and took her car to look for SIM cards and a hire car. We decide to take the these few days pretty easy. We visit our local deli, the beach and BBQ a few times. One of Phil's friends, Paul, who lives in HB comes over for a BBQ and we spend the evening playing Uno, pool, bananagrams and table tennis. Phil also manages to buy the smallest cherry pie in the world for dessert, much to Jane's embarrassment.

Well we did it.... We climbed the lofty of all lofties, the mountains of all mountains, we did Yosemite. Okay so we trekked for about4 and a half hours and didn't make it quite to the top but I'm calling in a good effort despite being a little tired from looking out for bears with no avail.
