Friday was "Inside Rainy Day" so on to downtown San Jose. All the time I worked in Silicon Valley in the early to mid 80's I don't think I've ever went to downtown San Jose - I guess my business or curiosity never ...
San Jose, California, United States stevegarson... still shouting about "Honey, whats wrong? Back so soon..." and I'm thinking something horrible is about to go down...I turn the corner just at the bottom of the hill to see 5 guys at full speed coming at me. I'm not sure if I explained what happened, just asked where we parked and yelling what I saw to their backs as they fly by.
We approach the bottom of the hill just where it turns to go up to where we parked and an RV drives right past us. The guys keep flying up the hill ...
Driving to Gilroy was a drag. There was traffic on a weekend! I'm kind of surprised by this because there usually isn't traffic in the bay area on the weekends, except in San Francisco. This weekend was also the Garlic Festival, which is held in Gilroy. I have never been to one, but I'm planning to attend at least one of the annual festivals in my lifetime. Gilroy has an outlet. It's actually really big. There were ...
Gilroy, California, United States aplaxo... I didn't close the deal. Wrinkly lips aren't my thing. After a five-mile day hike through the big trees, it was time to start heading down the coast. We were only able to see a small 17-foot waterfall about two miles from the main ranger station. We were almost tempted to see the 80-foot or so Berry Creek Falls, but that was an 11-mile, six hour hike. We didn't have the time to see those falls. Maybe next time. We hit the road by 1 p.m. Next stop, Monterey.
Boulder Creek, California, United States lifeofbrian... way? No, we don't. Frickin' YAY. Been there, done that.] Day 2: Arrive Rome (June 11) Make your own way to the hotel, then the day is free to explore at leisure. Maybe start your souvenir shopping or try an Italian gelato. This evening meet your Tour Manager and enjoy an evening sightseeing tour. [Ah, Roma. I should take my "Angels and Demons" book and walk in Langdon's footsteps. I'll pick a fight in the Trevi fountain, too. I ...
San Jose, California, United States grgoebelOur first morning in San Fran and we decided to take a look at the famous Lombard street... to those who have not heard of this, its the windiest street in the world, or the country, or something!! We then walked down to the piers and managed to get a tour to Alcatraz. This was a really good experience and we met an ex prisoner Darwin Coon. We bought his book and he signed it for us. Not too sure if shaking his hand was the right thing to do... he was a bad man once! Our first day ...

Los Altos, California, United States kbryanjonesOn Wednesday Amir, Lizzie, Jay and I set off in a nice new rental car (Dodge Charger) to go and see my (Charlotte's) family in Gilroy, 2 hours south of San Francisco. On arriving at Aunt Frances' house we met Frances, Robert, Mitch and Libby - and it was just like being back at home! The room full of conversation, lots of different conversations all at the same time, it was fantastic!! Being made to feel completely confortable and welcome is something ...
Gilroy, California, United States charlotte_amirWe made it to California relatively unharmed. Though driving through the desert in the summer heat without air conditioning was a test of will. Finally, once it had cooled off we frolicked and played through the park. I got the chance to touch my first palm tree. I have no idea whose yard it is ...
