... The landscape is really spectacular.

About 1/3 of our way down the trail, we had another first (for me at least) first wasp sting. It hurt, and I didn't know it was a wasp, my sister told me.

At the Visitor Center, there was a sign about the mosquito level. Aparently, the moquito level was moderate, which ment one was biting you every time ...

... where we turned around and effortlessly floated back down the river. On the way back we stopped at the swimming hole. We had no intentions of swimming because the water was freezing, but of course my clumbsy self slides off the rock and into a giant puddle...-_- things got a bit colder after that.

We wondered around the rocks for awhile playing on some silly ...

In about a mile, the trail split to form a loop and we headed left, eventually ...

... I bet he was the truck parked next to us..... He said,"hey!!" Not in a friendly way but in a wtf way. He then watched me walk back to the cab (I think he was bewildered). Yes, I have a pee pot (more about that later). Men can just hang off the side of the truck. Fueling up takes a long time....we have a small tank. They can get up to 300 gallons though. To fill the tank on this truck can cost $750! Besides fueling there ...

    Why Columbia?

... could. I became great friends with my roommates who I met on craigslist but turned out to be 2 of the most amazing people I have ever met. Their puppies are my favorite dogs in the world! They have a wonderful group of friends I have been lucky enough to hang out with and even their families have been incredibly welcoming.

Although not an ideal location, Columbia is a gem and I know that my time here will be enlightening and I WILL be sad to leave.
