We were up at 6:30a.m. and left the hotel before 8:00a.m. We made it to Toledo by 5:00. We were in our driveway before 6:00p.m. after a trip to the grocery store. All animals are alive, well, and happy to see us! Now the fun part of cleaning out the car:(
Yes, we would leave tomorrow and do it all over again if we could! There were a few meltdowns along the way, but the laughter and experiences far exceeded the not-so-fun times.
... he wanted to get as many miles behind him now (even though I started offering to drive just after we stopped for dinner, thinking that there was really little chance that he took me up on it NOW, but it sounded good). As navigator, I warned him that just before Indiana, there was going to be a "confusing" part where 90 split off. I managed to fall asleep just in time for him to miss the exit! So I over slept and woke up at 8:44. By the time I got dressed and to the meeting room the attendees were there. Luckily I only had nine people and one lady was nice enough to help me set up. All in all I thing I did good. It took me a few minutes to get myself ...
... We dropped by a store, Meijers for a few grocery items. Meijers is HUGE - like an extreme Superstore. We dined at Applebee's. Now there's an experience! Middle America at its finest. It was immensely popular ( and not recommended). Food was "the lowest common denominator on steroids". Cheap and plentiful. After dinner we rushed back to ingest Peptones Bismo. The remainder of the evening was spent reading and watching TV. Then on again the next morning. ...
... 30 miles a day and stay in B & B's or motels. There is a town close to each 30 mile stretch. Once we started riding, each time we stopped the bugs descended on us - making us happy that we would be bug fee each night.
The Trail is maintained by volunteers. We saw a minimal amount of litter - an amazing fact considering the number of people ...
