... made change for a patron, did a few other tasks, and then put my burger on the grill, never once washing his hands or donning plastic gloves. I was so hungry by the time the garbage dump of a meal came to me that I plowed through the onions and chili and soggy bread like a champ. I did, however, tell Bud that I thought it would be prudent to stop for the night at a full facility rest area. It was a good day.

Finally left Oregon and entered Northern California. Drove along the coast thru the Redwoods National Park. Entered a trailhead off the side of the road and admired the massive trees for about an hour. The boys also enjoyed climbing some standing and fallen trees. ... near. At 7:00 we arrived at Burney Falls, where it was 92 degrees at the parking lot (in the shade!), although a good 20-30 degrees cooler down at the base of the falls! What I liked about CA: They put traffic warnings on the road at a lot of places. If there is a stop up ahead they will write it on the road, lanes have turn arrows. The variety of weather, you could be in the valley and in an hour be in the mountains or on the coast.
