... were to sit on a grassy area in right field. Abe hustled back to the car for a blanket so we could be more comfortable. We ate terribly (kettle corn, ice cream, beer, soda, pork sandwich), the Bees lost to the El Paso Chihuahuas, and for much of the game the boys stood in the shade because even at 8:30pm, it was still close to 95. It's so strange here that at night it can get hotter. The fireworks were really great. Ben had fun not watching the game ...

Dylan's hair ...

... climbing on a picnic bench and falling backward into the stuff, at least a foot, I would say? Tony was also excited to see that we had landed near where the Donner Party incident occurred (which I had NO idea what that was all about, when he had added it to our original itinerary of "possible places" we could visit along the way...) There was a plaque all about it at this spot...So after a very boring drive across Nevada and Utah (so boring, they even post signs so ...

    Central Square

... In Salt Lake City, that place is Temple Square, so central and so significant that even the street names designate one’s distance from the place. Why do people go? Is it a spiritual quest, or simple curiosity? Do people go for history – the history of their family, or the history of the settling of the west? Or do they go because it’s pretty?

Temple Square isn’t all that big; it ...
