... ranches don't have wells... too deep so they have a 2500 gal tank on a trailer set up and once a week a truck pulls the trailer to a fire hydrant in town... they fill the tank and take it back to the house... and fill a tank in one of the sheds...

... taking! The colours were amazing & the different lines so vivid!! We made our way around to the museum to learn about how it was made - did you know it is still an active volcano site & used to be a tropical sea! Wed bought a picnic so set up camp in the shade for an hour with food & an ice cream then made our way to the end of the trail by shuttle & hiked it back to the recommended sunset spot. ... About 3/4 of the way to the I40 we stopped at one of the original road houses on Route 66. It still had the original petrol browsers (not working of course). We hit the I40 at about 3.30pm with a couple of hours to go to Williams, it was still 39C. 2 hours later we arriving in Williams Arizona, it is 13C and raining. Havent been in such a temperature shift in years. got accommodation just out of Williams in Days Inn. Now for a good nights sleep and off to Grand Canyon ...

... too severe for an SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle). But not having a 4x4 handy and having gone too far to go back, we kept at it. I say "we", although as I was driving, we were going where I thought we should go. In all, we may have driven around in the Kaibab Forest for an hour or so.
