Overnight flight to Norway!

A travel blog entry by sojanet on Jul 30, 2014

... was delayed by 25 mins! My layover in Detroit was only 44 minutes... And all the passengers in front of me transformed into caterpillars... Then the plane arrived at gate A5 and the outgoing flight was at A46.. So I spirited across the mile long McNamara terminal. Yes! I made it! This is precisely why, people, we need to exercise regularly! (or the existence of express trains upstairs that I did not see.. ...

... Smoky Mountains to Cherokee, North Carolina. The plan was to hike here and there, but, aside from a short "quiet walk" just off the road into the forest, the rain prevented us from doing pretty much anything but drive. We got to host, a Baptist church here in Winston Salem, and then immediately took shuttles to the local YMCA to shower. Dinner was delicious Mexican food provided by our hosts. Then it was time to paint our van. It's tradition that each group paint their van, we didn't make a ton of progress tonight but at least we got started. I think that's all for now. Good night, love ...

Day 10: 82 miles to Winston Salem

Today's ride started out rough. It was one of those morning's, where, had I been at home and not had 30 other teammates counting on me to bike that day, I would have probably bailed on my ride and slept in instead. I was exhausted from two super epic build days and 82 miles with some good climbing wasn't super enticing at 545am this morning. I rolled out ...
