... on Sunday at around 2PM. No particular reason though. Traffic is anyways light on the East Coast Road, that runs parallel to the coast and maintained well on account of the toll roads. Heat and humidity does not matter, as south India is slowly turning into a furnace anyways.

The drive on ECR road was smooth and we reached Mahabalipuram in just over an hour.

Mahabalipuram, is known for its temples, stone carvings ...

... take a tuktuk back to the hotel. We then went to a local fast food restaurant for lunch and had a 'limited' meal, which seemed to be as eat as much as you like; rice with different vegetarian sauces on it, served on a banana leaf all for 80p/62 rupees! ... trap does not exist. Their entire life is spent mostly working. They also do not have a paid retirement. If these people cannot find satisfaction and happiness in their work then they do not have much chance of finding any happiness anywhere in their life. And thus are they able to find joy, satisfaction and happiness during their working hours. So after all it is not that difficult. ... Giri in Igatpuri was the first Vipassana centre that Goenka set up when he brought this particular Vipassana tradition back to India, and it really has a special atmosphere.
