We found our beachside campsite in Hiawatha Park of Lake Michigan just ten miles or so after crossing the Mackinaw Bridge. We are on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Our tent is pitched, it's about 72 degrees. The girls are all wound up, so it's a good to stop and let them burn off some energy running from our campsite in the woods down the ...

... about 50 round trip, or wait for the ice bridge to form. The ice bridge can last a few days to a month depending on temps and wind. Back on the mainland, it was time to drive over this very impressive bridge and head west. I had planned to camp on Lake Superior tonight near Painted rock State Park, However, it was so foggy, you couldn't even see the lake, and I decided to press on. ... especially the 2 year old cheddar.

The highway south was a quick way to reach St Ignace. Speed limit was 70 mph, 60 mph for trucks and minimum speed was 55 mph. Arrived early afternoon and found a motel which gave a 20% discount for over 50's!!! Have been for a drive around the town. No mooching up the town streets on foot as there is no protection from the rain over the footpath. Have discount vouchers for the casino! May go out and take a look.
