... everybody travels to Denver on Saturday. With accidents and construction, it took us almost 7 hours in what should have taken about 4 hours. We ended up in Kearney, Nebraska at about 10:00pm. There we spent the night boondocking at a rest area on I-80. Tomorrow, we will make better time.

As one travels East in this part of the country the landscape gradually changes from mainly grazing to grazing mixed with agriculture, predominantly corn but some soybeans and wheat. Since the corn had not yet been planted we soon left the grazing cattle (and those absolutely adorable baby cattle) behind and began passing almost unending bare brown earth with patches of green winter wheat here and there. 542 miles closer to home, woo hoo! Was a nice day today hot with some clouds but no rain. It had stormed overnight so the bike and roads were wet when we left but we will gladly take that over riding in the rain. Shane said we are over 6,200 miles.
