Harry Potter and More
We have spent the last three days in Orlando using our 3 day Universal Studios pass as part of the Harry Potter package we booked.back in June. The days are hot and humid and sleep has been in short supply since we have been here - we have been leaving the hotel room at 8:00am and not returning until after 11:00pm due to the late closing of the …
Trip to Orlando
Today we were up at 5am and Darryl took us to the airport. Left Denver at 8.30am as the flight was a bit late. Great flight. We were next to the exit so had plenty of legroom. Had to wait a while for the shuttle to take us to the Hotel. The Hotel seems good. 2 heated outdoor pools and is on International Drive which has lots of eateries, shopping …
Space Centre
We had a terrific day exporing the Kennedy Space Centre. Left the Hotel at 7.45am and returning at 7.45pm. A long but enjoyable day. The weather was great and we got a lot of photos. We went on a tourbus which took us to the Centre from the Hotel which was about an hours trip, then we caught the shuttle buses which took you to the different parts …

Finally! I am in Orlando, the weather is hot, and the sun is shining. The people here is really nice, already two guys had asked me if I want some help with my luggage. My mother is really tired, because of the flight. I slept the all journey. The taxi is waiting for us…
Enjoy the Ride
... of the park, stopping in shops I hadn’t been in and trying to take as much in as possible. As I get to the car pickup area, Christy and Atabey are sitting with another guy, it turns out he’s the French ‘Julien’ (said in a French accent, if you please) and he’s so quiet he barely says a word. He’s studying to be a pilot and has been with Alberta and Ian for almost two years. Christy rushes over - excited to see me. I roll my eyes as I face the ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Quality Inn International Drive Orlando
Great rate and clean rooms!!
If your looking for a good clean room at a great price this is it! We
paid $46 a night for a new fridge in room, a microwave, coffee pot,
free use of in-room safe and they do offer free transportation to some
parks.
The room attendant (Ruby)was so nice, she came in everyday while we were out at the parks, made sure we had plenty of fresh clean towels, soap, and coffee. My 6yr. old brought 3 of her baby dolls from home and when we would get back to our room, Ruby always had the babies tucked in the bed so cute, this meant alot to us, since this was our first trip to Florida and we did encounter some really rude people!
This motel is really close to alot of restaurants, which was really convenient, and they have security you must show a pass to, before you can enter the parking lot, and last but not least they have 2 really clean rather large pools!!
Stayed 8/12 to 8/20, loved it for the budget!!
You get what you pay for......
We stayed at the QI International for a week from July 13 this year. We were initialy a bit dispointed as the room smelled a bit damp when we first arrived. The room was a good size and had a fridge (very handy and cheap as other hotels charge $10 a day + tax) and a microwave. The hotel is well placed on I Drive and has a decent minimart. The most annoying thing was that the room had metal blinds instead of curtains that hung directly above the air conditioning. This meant that when the AC was on the blinds clanked and rattled which was a bit annoying when you were trying to sleep. We also stayed in the Royal Pacific Resort as Universal for a couple of nights at the end of our holiday and decided that we would definately book a hotel at WDW or Universal the next time we visit as it make the whole experience much more special.
Great family value
My family and I stayed at this Quality Inn in May 2003, we had a great time. They have great deals for the kids breakfasts and dinners, we have very fussy eaters, and they were even happy!!!! The staff was very friendly and courteous to us at all times. They have free shuttle busses, a convenience store, a gift shop, lounge, and game room too. It was a lot of fun, we will be back again!!
Hotel from hell
After booking in I booked right out again and asked for a sister Hotel that was better and I was sent to the Rosen Plaza Hotel which was excellent
Quality
On March we went to Orlando and it was beautiful. The quality Intl Hotel was marvelous. he employees were very nice and friendly. At the restaurant I was very happy. My next trip I am staying at the Quality Intl. Hotel. The Convention Center its beautiful, you have any kind of stores five mins. from hotel and even theaters. the weather was great. It was an spectacular experience.
Great budget Vacation!
The key thing to remember with a hotel like this is, you get what you pay for. I have stayed here several times over the past 6 years, the most recent being May 2003. The hotel is featured predominantly in a lot of UK travel brochures and as such is very popular with UK visitors as well as the more budget-conscious Americans. If you're on a tight budget and don't want the extra expense of a hire car then you really cannot get a whole lot better than this hotel. For a start the amenities on site are of a very high standard - plenty washing machines for families, two pools, floodlit at night, small amusement arcade, bar and (fairly decent) buffet restaurant. The rooms are very basic but clean and functional...however do remember this is a motel-style property and as such you do have people walking by outside your window so you may want to draw the curtains when changing! But by far the main selling point for this property is its location. Who can argue with a hotel which not only has a massive McDonalds next door (complete with a huge play area for the kids) but a whole range of eateries and bars and convenience stores within 5 minutes' walk. The local "I-Ride" tourist bus stops right outside and this takes you to the Belz Outlet Mall in one direction and Seaworld in the other. Another local bus, the 41, takes you to the wonderful Florida Mall and even on to the airport if you do not have transfers included in your package. Yet another local bus will take you to Universal Studios and as for Wet N Wild, well that's a mere 10 minutes' walk. That just leaves Walt Disney World - and again, if you are not driving, the tour desk in the hotel lobby can book you onto the charter bus which has several pick-up/drop-off times throughout the day. Couldn't be easier. For those with a car, getting to/from the airport is very straightforward, using Turkey Lake Road and then the I4 will take you to Universal Studios in 5 minutes and a further couple of miles up to the brand new Mall of the Millenia which uiet and a relaxing holiday then this hotel is not for you. It's location is on a very busy intersection, with a freeway to the rear and International Drive to the front. This end of International Drive is nowhere near as nice as the southern end (past the Convention Centre down towards Seaworld) as it tends to be more neon, more noise, more lower-end outlets. However it feels totally safe, has absolutely everything you would need and if you're not driving - perfect.
Good and Bad Experiences
My family and I have stayed here twice, once in Dec. of 2000 and again in Oct. 2002. The first time we stayed was good except that the pool smelled like urine. The food was good and we had great service in the rstaurant. The second time we went was better. The pool was clean and refreshing, the food was good and our waitress remembered us from 2 years before. The only problems we had were due to the tour company we used. We are going back Dec. 2003 and will be staying here again. Rooms are somewhat small but a good choice for families on a budget.
Had a great time here!
I am a single mum of two teenagers. We stayed here for a couple of weeks in June 2001. Rooms spacious and the cleaning staff work hard!. Plenty of things for the kids to do after the theme parks, and the restaurant is good value if you are too knackered to go out of an evening! the pool is lovely, and location is ideal. the i ride stops just outside too. the shuttle bus service is good.couldnt fault it really! it was so good that we are doing the unthinkable and staying in the same hotel this year!
Loved the hotel have been 4 times in 10 years
The hotel is situated on International Drive, at the crosss roads of Sand lake road and with the biggest McDonalds in Florida at the bottom of the garden, who with young kids can complain. The rooms have 2 double beds, fridge and coffee maker and air conditioning, and are cleaned each day.the two pools are heated and are open 9.am-10pm most days, and are lit up at night great fun for the kids. The Hotel has a buffet style restaurant, isn't bad and if you book with Virgin holidays you receive 2 breakfasts and 1 evening meal free. If you want a decent breakfast that's quick and good value go to Ponderosa, otherwise a slighttly more expensive option is Golden Corral, lovely!!!!!!!!We take platic cereal bowls and spoons and a box of cereal with us so we just buy milk and the rest of our drinks and cereals from the K-mart on Turkey lake road, just around the corner.Have fun and remember to be prepared before you go.Last thing don't forget to pick up the many books and magazine off international drive they are free and have money off coupons in for everything you will want to do in Orlando. 10% off Ponderosa, sizzler, golden Corral and many other resturants.!!!!
Central, good value
The good points of this hotel are a central location on I-Drive,low cost room rates,2 pools, on site restaurant, trolley stop just outside, within walking distance of Mcdonalds and Dennys restaurants.
The not so good points are slightly dated rooms, noisy groundfloor rooms, a few dark passsages, fairly slack security.Buffet breakfast is ok but go to Sizzler or Pondarosa instead.
