Hot dog was great, the coffe we sniffed then left on the table. We then made our way to Sioux City, Iowa after a few stops at Webster and Rockwell where ther was a threat of a possible twister. No such luck. We had a drink in the bar and started to bond with some English sisters. We laughed SO much.

We started the day with a journey through the Black Hills via a winding road through Spearfish Canyon on our way to Mount Rushmore. ... Park and a lunch stop. Before hitting I-90, we stopped at Minuteman Missile NHS, a national park site that preserves a nuclear missile silo site. There are no more active Minuteman silos in SD (they were dismantled pursuant to START) and we weren't in time for a tour, but the small interpretive center was pretty neat. Greetings from Omaha, It is a beautiful town here in Omaha. Everyone here are so friendly and warm. I had a wonderful stay here and I have learnt so much from my visit to Boystown Research Hospital. They are doing great stuff. I just got back from the hotel after the staff's Christmas party and it made me think a lot about the TPS staff and how much I miss working with everyone. ... best night so far, in my opinion. Absolutely awesome campsite, about 50 yards from the Missouri River. The River was very wide, but so slow-moving that I could barely hear it. Allison is a campfire guru, and she built us a great fire. It was a cool but nice night, and we sat by the fire reading and looking at our maps. We heard coyotes howling. ... Nothing much else of interest for the rest of the day, just more driving. We're staying in Dakota Dunes, SD tonight. This town is right on the border with Iowa and Nebraska. We actually ate dinner in Sioux City, IA (just 3 miles down the road) and then headed over the Missouri River to South Sioux City, NE, where we spent about 10 minutes driving around. Now Emily can add Nebraska to her list of states visited.
