The town wanted to build a larger facility but could not get the jays franchise to contribute any money into the project threatening, even at that time to head to Phoenix! and the smaller town was stretched to its limits so could only build the present stadium seating just over 5000 seats...they are sold out most spring training seats ...but in talking to many visitors who can't get ...

Our destination Monday was to travel into Tampa Bay for an evening hockey game. Left our apt. By 2pm and found ourselves in the heart of downtown very quickly so made a quick decision to hike over to the TB History center . The amount of traffic congestion is just amazing considering the roads are 3 and 4 lanes wide in one direction ...

We docked back at Clearwater just as a thunderstorm hit, so ran straight to Crabby Bill's to have lunch :-) my barracuda was amazing, now my favourite food! After lunch we visited Clearwater Aquarium, the home of Winter the dolphin from the film A Dolphins Tale, she has a prosthetic tail to help her swim and so keep her ...

... even a few minutes early. Immigration and baggage claiming were easy, but then came the Customs line. There were actually four lines and they were all long. We took our pick and, naturally, picked the slowest one! At last, we re-checked our bags to Tampa, went through security and headed for the Delta Sky Club.
It was a very large club, but quite crowded. Fortunately, Skip and Beth had gotten there before us and claimed some seats for us. We both had long layovers in Detroit. ...
