... cafes in case you had more time. That would have been a very good place to spend the better part of a day as well. The object of this excursion was not just to see this charming little shopping district, but to buy what Catherine considers the best ice cream in Paris. The displays are like those for gelato in Italy where there are rows of rectangular metal pans which each have a different frozen treat of some kind. Often they are decorated with ...

By this stage I had stopped replying to his rantings, except for when he raised his voice and repeated a question in a way that implied he might ...

If you like great but not fancy accommodations and excellent regular food try Kibbutz sometimes called Guest Houses. Not cheap, but consider that 2 or 3 meals are included usually.
A dinner in a restaurant averaged $15. A car (Mazda 3) for 8 days was $500, Gas was about $8.00 a gal but with all our driving around for eight day, we spent $130 in gas.

Well we started off right, but we hit lots of traffic on Rt. 95 heading into Mt.Vernon and Richmond. Made a historic pit stop at Mt. Vernon. Pretty impressive place. I almost embarrassed Kristi and had us kicked out for rubbing my face on General Washington's pillow. They take that stuff very seriously nowadays.
Then off to Richmond where we met Ryan and Kelly. First night...hotel...not bad.
We hit ...

Luba and I slept in until about 830am. Bevil and Stewart were, of course, up, dressed and waiting for us. Bevil and Stewart took us to O'Doul’s for breakfast and then afterwards took us to visit the family plot at the Hollywood Cemetery. It was great to see that Luba was actually interested to see where my father and family were buried. After a short ride through Richmond we headed back to the ...
... it will take a week to get everything straightened out. The spiders loved our house while we were gone. We tooks thousands of pictures, and no, we won't make you look at all of them.
Praise God for a safe trip through 19 states and over 13,100 miles.

... my image of all historical figures talking like pirates might be misguided, but my elementary school textbooks can't compete with Johnny Depp and his roguish charisma.
It was a fun couple of weeks though, and I need time like that with my mom to supplement our primary communication of Skype calls from 10,000 miles away. From there, it was off to NYC to see the city sans my previous fog of jet-lag and incessant vomiting. Sans. Who talks like that?
... on, lets get moving!!!! Long story short, I made my flight, which was totally full and in a little less than 2 hours I was in Chicago. Now if anyone has traveled on United I'm sure they've been through the Chicago O'Hare airport. O'Hare is one of the busiest airports in the world and you can easily miss a flight just trying to get from one terminal to another. No matter how frustrating it might be, it has one great redeeming fact... in Terminal A near Gate 14 ...
Monterey, California, United States mermaidfishUp at 7, 7 blocks back to the Greyhound Terminal by 8 and in Washington by 11. The Greyhound actually isn't as bad as everyone makes out, well i haven't had a bad experience yet, touch wood. There's nothing like tempting fate, eh?! Walked down to Craig's office in the centre of DC, a sweaty 40 minute walk but an awestruck one past monu-mental buildings of the greatest importance, the Capitol Building, the grand Supreme Court made purely of marble and Union Station ...
