Went back to Eugene then I headed to the Umpqua Forest which is central Oregon in the mountains. Ahhh, it was beautiful. Great campground with fun people who liked to play music. Great river, lakes, forest, meadows... can't really describe it all, it was nice.
One of my highlights ...
Not much to tell about Roseburg and our stay here, although it is a nice little town and the back balcony of our room looked out over the Umpqua River, with accompanying ducks and interesting birds of a sort we don't see in Alabama. We needed to wash clothes and gather our wits before driving to Crater Lake, Mt. Shasta, and into California -- so Roseburg is it.
Roseburg, Oregon, United States janemhToday I start my upward trip to Port Angeles where I will catch the ferry yo Vancouver Island to visit my brother nd family, it will take two days. Today (day 1) I started early and prepared. I had to travel about 148 miles along the coast which because of the mountainous region (up/down & twisted turns) will take me twice as long as on a normal highway. I also dressed in my thermal underwear ...
Roseburg, Oregon, United States muggeragem... who are also on the road making their way to Canyonville as well. These friends as well as ourselves are members of a RV club called the Pac-Nats and all our us are traveling to various locations in Arizona. We decide that we have to get some groceries prior to our arrival and stop in Roseburg at a Freddy's to get same. Imagine our surprise when another club member finds us in the store and she knew we were here as she recognized our two ...
Canyonville, Oregon, United States shipling... mountain of Mount Shasta. By that time we were already almost 10 hours on the road, but since it was only about 3:30 at that stage we decided to push on, and make this day a really long trip - while tomorrow will then be much easier. We pushed through to Roseburg in Oregon - 12 hours later we are sitting in a road side inn, exhausted, and glad that tomorrow's trip will be much easier, and shorter too Seattle.
Roseburg, Oregon, United States sotasToday the plan is to travel to southern Oregon. After taking advantage of some more of Tom and Lisa's graciousness and hospitality in the morning I leave Cool and put about 400 miles on the bike over mostly freeway miles. Passing through Chico (again) I note that all my sweat glands seem to be in good working order. It's 111 degrees F! Whew!! I'm very grateful to start up into the mountains, traveling past Mt. Lassen, a dormant ...
Roseburg, Oregon, United States graybeardWell, we are gearing up for this summer's adventure early..... Its a whole 5 months before we depart, but as the boy scouts say " Be Prepared". We have our airline tickets locked down and the dates are set! I have been reading travel books galore, as well as travel blogs, web-sites and maps. There is so much to see in Vietnam, our ...
Roseburg, Oregon, United States kelly-shiloh... in Crater Lake, we pulled in behind a worn out Subaru w/ HI plates. The folks had actually taken our picutre at the 1st overlook stop and vaguely explained they were "in between places" right now but had recently lived in HI. They loved HI, but who wouldn't. Now with 47, only CT, RI and AR remain. Odds look good for completion, though little RI might be the tough get. Misc happenings of the day: We had our first and second power failures of the trip ...
Roseburg, Oregon, United States allobr... off about 10 miles off Cuba and we never made it... That's another story and another blog, should you care to read that one just send me an email and I'll send it to you.. He has a lovely home about 12 miles out of Sutherlin, Or and the Umpqua River runs just behind his house. It's a very peaceful area with lots of song birds plus Mick is into wine and has started his own vineyard. He gave me an education in the extensive and complex art ...
Eureka, California, United States dldemented... and charged us a neat $9.95 for the drugs rather than the required 2.8 million. With medications coursing through her nearly exhausted veins, we bundled Ruthanne up in the backseat. Hope gleamed through the trees on the horizon, and I found myself reconsidering the detriments of modern society. If I made it through the mountains, I would resign myself to the admittance of the possible benefits of drug development and road taxes. If I made it.
