Geraldine invited us in for breakfast in the morning, so we were up at 6:00 am to get ready. A quick (and delicious) breakfast of eggs, toast, and bacon, and Geraldine was off taking her kids to school ...
Well, today's travel was quite a bit more interesting than I had anticipated. For the first hundred miles the wind was hellacious; 30-40 MPH side winds with higher gusts. That went on for almost two hours, the longest two hours of the trip so far. I was so tense that I took an hour and a half lunch break while the wind died down.
I thought about calling it a day and getting a hotel room right after lunch, but ...
I took yesterday off from traveling, going just fifty miles from San Marcos to Marble Falls, Texas. Then today on to Big Spring. Texas just keeps going and going. In fact, it will take most of the day tomorrow to cross into New Mexico.

The winds were bad today and we decided to just stop in Big Spring TX at a Wal-Mart for the evening. We were the only rig in the lot. They did have an area out of the way which was just fine for the evening.
