A Long Day of Nothing But the Open Road

When I first thought about going to a bus tour for seven days, I thought to myself: What am I getting myself into? I thought about how utterly long and boring this was going to be! I thought about sitting in the bus for many hours, sleeping for half of the day! I thought about going to the restroom at the back of the bus, praying that I wouldn't have to do #2 and reveal to sixty people that I can ****. Yeah...all of these were ideas coming from my head, the negativity of them all. However, I ...

Day 49 - Hoodoo Magic

... ignored! Asked again if he could read. At which point in a really cocky attitude he replied, "yeah, I can read". So Mel pointed out the sign to him, to which he replied "Quite frankly I don't give a s**t"!!!!! Well we both replied "that's quite obvious", before he got really abusive and told us to mind our own business and "go away" not very politely!

So it's time to shame this obnoxious ****er,! If you know this man you should be very, very ...

Kapitel 19 /Chapter 19

... waere eigentlich verboten: 100 Dollar Strafe!) =) Chapter 19: Bryce National Park 27. May 2008 Amazing! No other place amazed us more than Bryce Canyon. We gazed at it from the various viewingpoints and shared our very tasty chipmunks (psst that's forbidden: 100 Dollar penalty!) =)

Sleep....sleep....sleeeeeeep!

Short day driving today. My eyes are bagged. I am where I planned to be when I mapped out my return home. Surprise. Surprise. When I left Vegas this morning I decided to drive to Provo, another 250 kms further. But I know how to read the signs now. It was time to stop. That's It! That's All! PS. The ICE show was amazing last night. Third row, center stage. But that wasn't hard to get. It wasn't a sold out show.

Day 6

Day 6 Only about 4 hours drive today, but when we got the Bryce canyon it was snowing. Not good when we were all sat in the van in shorts, vests and flip flops. so we hopped out and Art found us 6 man cottages, was really fun. Once we got settled it had actually stopped ...

2168 Parowan

We left Las Vegas with the intention of going through Utah as quickly as possible. Last time Randy had a bad experience with Utah because the cities are far and few in between. And almost running out of gas in Utah was not the optimal experience for him. Either way, we were both dead tired and I was driving. I couldn't imagine Randy trying to drive out of the parking garage. And both of us being dead tired and driving is a consistent theme, but after having ...

Religious Experience at Zion

... the park, I spent most of the day taking the scenic drive through the canyon and hiking up to the Emerald Pools (mountain spring fed pools with a one hundred foot waterfall that ranges from a sprinkle in winter to a gushing cascade in spring), Weeping Rock, Court of Patriarchs (three peaks named after Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), the Grotto and the Narrows/Temple of Sinawava (the type of rock restricted the river in this area, so that it created ...

Bryce Canyon National Park

... a private jet. Although it was pretty damn cold today, somehow with the sun shining on our faces it didn't seem quite so bad. The snow on the rocks of Bryce, only helped to emphasise how red they were and the inclement weather meant that we virtually had the viewpoints to ourselves. Even though we were a little canyoned out today, we still took plenty of time to take in the views, as I doubt we'll see such similar beauty in Las Vegas, which is where we're heading too next.

Zion Canyon National Park

... it too. Feeling inspired by this drive and full of energy, we parked and walked up to the top of a further mountain (just to get some photos of the viewpoint). The climb was rated as moderate, but I have to say that after the climb we disputed the grading of the National Park. The climb was very steep and in places on the edge of a huge drop. Just to add to this potentially lethal mix, there was still some ice and snow on the path. My ...

Creating "home" wherever you are

The beauty of the American Southwest! Dry and desolate...yet grand and overwhelming. Spires of rock rising up from the desert... Windswept scenes... Bands of colors--first, deep and red...then rust-colored...even dirty-white...all in one formation! Wander into a "slot canyon" are here is what you get! (picture enclosed)
