      Near Seattle

A travel blog entry by sjm904 on Aug 04, 2014

It was a fairly uneventful drive from Surrey to Seattle. The border crossing went quicker than expected, having just a 30 minute wait. The interesting time came nearing our arrival. We realized that we had mapped out the wrong address. First we asked our host to tell us directions. We tried to follow, but where unsure from the beginning. Then we looked up the correct address with Google Maps, and tried to figure out which way to go, which wasn't an easy task. We drove back and ...

She flew to LA and I flew to Seattle. My flight got in at 9:35 pm. I am really glad to be home! What a fantastic ...

... Walking down the short distance to the river is beautiful. Manuel gets to the water and we are right atop a beautiful swimming hole, Manuel takes off his shirt, shoes, empties his pockets and dives into the water, Pretty cool! The water, boulders, vegetation are just amazing! We continue on and get to Monroe and our campground a little after noon. The campground is in a very rural area. It is amazing there are blackberry vines everywhere along the road, and ...

... or lifted from the river to the sea. What a great sight as some of the boats were very flash and they liked to show them off. Funny thing is they have their dogs wearing life jackets but don't worry about their kids. The salmon were also jumping up stream and it was amazing how far they can jump. There was a underwater observation deck where you could see the salmon working there way up stream and they really ...
