Thought we might spend a week here but tomorrow, we will drive back to Edisto Island to spend the week at the quiet state park on the beach relaxing and re-energizing before the next phase. It's more isolated and relaxed. This place is pretty but a little too upscale for our budget and too many people. My aren't we just turning into the recluses?

... and gravy as well as a number of other dishes, slaw and other salads weren't touched with too many to pick from. There were something like 26 dishes on the table! We just put a smudge on the plate so we could taste it and that was a plateful. Then for dessert we had peach cobbler and banana pudding, that was the best! ... Center . All in all a very enjoyable day. We then drove up to the historic town of St Augustine. This is the oldest town in the USA and was originally under Spanish rule. It was a fort town. There were some very old buildings there including the oldest house in the US and the oldest paved street in the US as well as the oldest wooden school house. St Augustine was founded in 1565 and some of the buildings were from that time and many were built ...

I kept walking along Bull Street and made my way to Forsythe Park, which has a really pretty walkway and huge fountain at the end of it. I have seen many pictures of this, so I was very excited to see it in the flesh finally. It was pretty on a day like today so it looked even better than it would have in the rain.

... Pie, which was really nice except it was cottage pie. FFS...there is a clue in the name!!! Had a walk by the river, and a couple of drinks watching the steam paddlers go up and down. Then off to bed. X
Sorry about the pics, but it was quite hard taking shots from inside the moving trolly bus. Plus there is a lack of description, as I was laughing at the trolley dolly instead of paying attention...my bad!
