The hotel pool then got a quick work out before we went to a local restaurant called Public. If we were locals, we would be there quite regularly. Excellent service and the Shrimp and Grits were fantastic. Emma proudly wore her Elsa dress again.
It would be easy to spend another day or two in Savannah.

... took a boat tour through te swamp as well. About an hour. Water in the swamp is currently about 18 inches deep. The area has been in drought for about 2years. Water is down about two feet overall. Guide reported that the fire has caused lots of the wild life to disappear, as well as the drought. The river is very active with ocean freighters being guided by tugs back and forth all day and night, but it is a mostly quiet activity. Not as noisy as trucks driving down the highway, but each of these big boats carry enough containers to keep a thousand trucks busy!
Back to our lovely, large room over the river and went to bed watching the freighters slip by through the night past our window.
