Also part of my route 'planning' was the knowledge that extreme weather was forecast for an exaggerated hourglass shape with its bottom lobe across southern Kansas and its top lobe across southern Nebraska.     We decided that we wanted to take a little hike today before leaving the Rockies and heading back east. We got up and had breakfast and then began to pack up. Camping has been fun, but I am glad that we are done with it.
