... least one hour for a similar car to the one we booked. We took the upgrade. Amtrak should pay the difference, but useless disputing the point. Finally got to the Hotel at 11.30 that night, after some trouble configuring the new North American map in my Garmin (bought my own over rather than rent the hire car version). Found out the trouble was just me - left off part of the Hotel's address. When I started it again, the Garmin found it straight ...

It was a $10 cab ride, which Andy paid, but it was worth ...

... SAME terminal as my flight, and I only had to run 5 gates! Which was really lucky since we arrived late and I didn’t have more than 15 minutes to board! My plan to call people to say goodbye during my lay over totally failed, but at least I made my flight!

The plane is EXTREMELY full. I am sitting in the middle row on the aisle, and on the other side of the aisle there is a very grumpy smelly man who doesn’t know how to smile. My seat is 58G. In 58D a ...

... UBS building in the ranks! V hot but have complimentary lemonade and cookies to keep us going. Great guide as well. Finish by 4 and head to Navy Pier for wander. Take refuge from heat in restaurant where pet and I try to share a massive portion of nachos and don't manage even half. Onto Ferris wheel for great views and then into ice crystal garden which looks like a huge greenhouse but is actually cool in both senses. Taxi back and check ...
