We got up early to try and catch the first shuttle (6AM) at the visitor center. We arrived at 6:15 and had missed the first shuttle so we had to wait in line. There were enough people in line that the 2nd shuttle filled up quickly so we caught the 3rd one. I would recommend arriving at the park early as overall there are fewer people in the park …

Another sleep in for us as we decided to save our energy for a walk when we get to Zion so up at 6.30am and another nice breakfast at the B&B. After packing up we hit the road at 9am for Zion which was only a short 2hr drive away. It was great fun and time flew by as we ventured deeper into the canyon. By the end of the trek we all felt pretty weary but we also felt that we had really experienced something special. Back on the bus and back to the lodge for a soak in the hot tub and a well earned beer.

I am so sorry but the pictures I post cannot do this place justice, so if you are reading this, please plan to come here someday. In fact, just visit any national park you can; John and I are often the minority at a lot of the national parks, not enough Americans get to our parks, and ...

... course the Hidden Canyon Trail is closed for construction. So we look at the other hike on offer next to it called “Observation Point”, it said that you gain 2000 elevation gain over 800m (and starting at 4000ft). It was deemed strenuous and that it would take the average person 5hrs. It was now 4pm, and we thought we could smash it out. So we start and it’s not easy, it’s switchbacks the entire way up the face of this canyon in the heat. ...
