... a great decision that was. After a steepish climb past Weeping Rock we came to a side canyon complete with massive boulders and rock overhangs . More photos! A gradual ascent on paths sheer in places ( one lady and her young son turned back declaring it too scary! ) but nothing too vertigo inducing resulted in us reaching the Mesa with its scrub of Pondorosa Pine and various low growing drought resistant growth. Lots of trees showed evidenced of lightening ...

We stopped along the way at other stops, but people were turned away because the shuttle was completely full. Our driver told them to get on the shuttle going back to the Visitor's Center and start over! Yikes! I have to admit that this is one of the things that I hate about the shuttles. After dinner, we went to campfire ranger talk about what goes "bump" in the night. Then back to camp and bed. I had been asleep just a bit when I was woke up by the wind blowing the table cloth weights all around on the metal picnic table making a lot of noise. I ended up having to get up and ...

... so that there is less automobile traffic throughout the park. I like that idea. The more remote the better in my book. When I finally made it to my first trail, I was a bundle of ecstatic energy. My adrenaline was soaring, and my spirits were lifted. I started out on what I thought was a moderate trail, but it soon became apparent that I was on an extremely difficult trail. I accidentally took a wrong turn and ended up hiking Angels Landing. ...
