Dzisiaj opuszczamy jedna dziure w ziemi (kanion Zion), ktora podziwialismy patrzac z dolu do gory, i przenosimy sie do innej Dziury w Ziemi (Grand Canyon), ktora bedziemy podziwiac patrzac, spogladajac z gory na dol. Naszym celem jest krawedz polnocna (North Rim). Do pokonania mamy dwiesciekilkadziesiat kilometrow.
Wyjechalismy tradycyjnie juz po sniadaniu (i kapieli w basenie).

... some other trails and and tramped through the park at our own pace, then stopped for dinner and smoothies at The Springdale Fruit Company before driving on. We ended up in Richfield, UT, where we got in late again and simply found a place to get some rest. The next day we drove all the way to Moab, and drove Hwy 191, which is lined with scenic BLM campgrounds. We settled at Fisher Towers for the night and discussed preparations for our upcoming Green River trip.
Springdale, Utah, United States kellyjohn... and this "pool" is much larger than the others. This trail has lots of natural rock steps. Some large some small, and a few "blind corners." It doesn't fail to amaze me that parents do allow their young children to run ahead, out of sight, scampering over the rocks with no supervision, when just one slip of a foot could send them tumbling down over the cliff. Then sue the Park System for damages.
Then up on to the Middle Emeral Pool ...
... the Zion valley is turbid and quite fast. Zion has a free shuttle bus system - the valley is closed to personal vehicles. The buses run every 6 minutes and make numerous stops at key trail heads and other visitor destinations. There is also a free bus in the adjacent town of Springdale that brings you to the park. The bus has been very easy and fun to use - we've just left our car at our hotel and ridden the ...
Zion National Park, Utah, United States roadster76... but I still ended up to my waist at times! It's quite hard going, as you're constantly walking on uneven rockas and boulders you can't see in the water; that's why you need the stick for balance. Also the water current is really strong when you fight it upstream. We did the 2.5 miles up the Y, where the Virgin and Orderville canyons converge. This is how far we got last year. This year we left Tegz sitting on a rock, and Lyn and Io sped off, up the Virgin Canyon. Ci and I followed at a ...
Springdale, Utah, United States cusan... vers notre prochain arrêt, Bryce Canyon.
Springdale, Utah, United States claire-michel... As it turns out this is a false peak about two-thirds of the way up and the real peak needed to be reached using a series of steps and chains. I rather surprised myself and everyone else by doing this quite easily despite the bird half way up looking at me hungrily. Having just climbed a mountain the obvious next thing to ...
Springdale, Utah, United States swhale... out to be a good thing, because as we were driving around outside of the park looking for a place to camp, Allison spotted a free BLM campground next to the Virgin River. We ended up staying there for three nights and saved $60, since the park charges $20 a night to camp. On our first full day in Zion we road the shuttle bus up Zion Canyon and hiked on a short trail to the Emerald Pools. It was a nice hike but it was really crowded. I couldn't help but notice how ...
