We woke up early in Palm Springs and set ourselves for the longest drive we will take during our whole trip here in the USA.

A 7 hour drive (which included a couple of stops), through the states of California, Nevada, Arizona and then arriving in Utah to Zion National Park.On our drive the scenery continued to blow us away. Even through …

... arty photo shots. I should say the views all the way up were magnificent and I kept trying to work out where on the Angels Landing walk I had climbed to to show Diane. We'd enjoyed mostly solitude on the way up but the summit was like Piccadilly Circus! Some rather obnoxious woman poopooed my curtailment of the Angels Landing walk where one holds onto chains across chasms of space between footholds but then said she was a rock climber! ... Tommy never even slipped. As we walked along, I could feel some blisters forming on one foot. Shoot! I had made it this long into the trip without a single one.

We exited the water and this is where we were really glad we were able to change into dry shoes and socks! The boots were full of water and very heavy. Water came pouring out as we pulled them off. And the socks? PU!!!! Fortunately, we had brought a large plastic bag and put the stinky shoes and socks in ...

... uphill hike. The trail levels out somewhat and gave us a bit of a break. We needed it because coming up next was Walter's Wiggles which is a series of steep switchbacks. 21 switchbacks to be exact! Just when I wondered if we would ever reach Scout Lookout, I smelled something. I looked at Tommy and said, "Ew, It smells likes poo". When I looked up, I saw the restroom. We had arrived. Once we were upwind of the restroom, it was much better.

Scout Lookout gave us a ...

... beautiful place. The last stop was at the end of the road where the River Walk starts. After riding back through the canyon to the visitor center and camp, we relaxed before going to bed. I slept well even though the wind did pick up again. It blows at night and morning before settling down later in the day. September 24, Wednesday. Today, we rode the shuttle into the canyon. It was about 10:00 ish so there were a lot of other people riding with us. Most of the ...
