... mountains, and it didn't disappoint! Even the hotels and fast food restaurants stuck with the alpine theme! We soaked in the atmosphere for a bit before heading to the cabin, which was an adventure in itself! It truly was in the middle of nowhere, with dirt tracks of at least 30 degree inclination proving a challenge for our wee Ford Fiesta. We managed though, and the result was so very worth ...

    ... many!

We had a great time taking Ellie to the local parks, though the heat made it hard to play out for too long . Good job we had a lovely pool to go home too!

... it our base camp for a few days. Forest Hills Resort, 13 miles out of town is a large farm with individual log cabins that can be rented. Ours featured a hot tub, fire place, wrap-around porch and beautiful views of mountain forest. Horse riding, wagon trails and a intimate chapel are all perks of Forest Hills but we opted for the hiking trials instead. Breakfast is included but dinners can be reserved. Well worth saving ...

... of the awning, when the "bottom fell out"....I mean a real "FROG STRANGLER" of a rain !!!......(( now a little side note here: everywhere we've ever traveled on the motorcycle and "rain happened", all we've had to do to "STOP" the rain was to put on our rain gear. 9 times out of 10, once we get the gear on, the rain would stop and the sky would get brighter...TODAY WAS NO DIFFERENT !!!)) By the time we got our rain pants ...
