    Commerce, Georgia, population 5292, has an interesting history.     ... we had to go there. It was pretty fancy, though small by NJ standards. What was really nice was the lovely dinner we had while sitting outside in 80 degree weather listening to a live band play a concert (apparently this mall hosts concerts! Mall of Georgia: 1, Rockaway: 0!).

    To say the least it was a nice evening where we were reminded how nice warm weather is. And of course, what relaxation feels like. Tomorrow....we go to America's largest aquarium!!! Stay tuned!

    ... for many years and decided to head for the mountains for a change. But mountains and Florida are not quite synonymous. The nearest was either South Carolina or northern Georgia. The Appalachian Trail has always held mystique since meeting a through hiker many years ago. So we headed to Georgia and Mile 1 (or Miles 1,146 pending where you start).

    ... called Mountain Crossing that sells pizza and coffee so I quickly changed my mind. I ended up staying here in the hostel, it's supposed to pour tonight so I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a dry bed. Planning on doing about 11 miles tomorrow, it's supposed to rain and snow tomorrow so we will see if I'm able to make it to Low Gap ...

    ... of the awning, when the "bottom fell out"....I mean a real "FROG STRANGLER" of a rain !!!......(( now a little side note here: everywhere we've ever traveled on the motorcycle and "rain happened", all we've had to do to "STOP" the rain was to put on our rain gear. 9 times out of 10, once we get the gear on, the rain would stop and the sky would get brighter...TODAY WAS NO DIFFERENT !!!))
