I loaded my luggage into the back of Lorraine (my GMC Terrain) and left the Rockford area ready to capture every moment and wonder from this point forward. ... the lot only to find out that Becky, the show's aerialist, had been in an accident with the truck and trailer she drove...a woman in a car cut her off at the last second and her vehicle jack-knifed as she tried to avoid hitting the car. Becky's okay, but the truck isn't salvageable, so our mechanics are spending part of their day off stripping the truck of anything they need and junking it and the musicians are testing their equipment (which had been in the trailer) to see if it ...

Since we'll be in Peru through Thursday, we're going to take the rest of the tickets we have (plus some posters and tickets we got from Al) and plaster them all over Peru...it's only a 20 minute drive to Mendota from here, so hopefully folks from Peru will travel for the show.
Tomorrow we're heading to Robbins, IL for their Labor Day parade...hopefully it doesn't get too hot!

Once back in Peru, we went grocery shopping (and left circus tickets with the deli counter employees who were asking us about our circus t-shirts) and collapsed at "home" to watch a few episodes of Doctor Who. Tomorrow, we're going to hit up the town again, see if we can catch some folks heading to or from the county fair, and have lunch with Al, the circus' bill poster.
