    ... a slight detour through O’Fallon (due to accidentally missing the exit) when we reached the Springfield area and stopped for gas and snacks. Darkness had set in and the temperature decreased tremendously.     ... Bread. It keeps the kids happy. Then finally made it to our first campsite at Lake Anita Campground. Very picturesque. We took a nice long bike ride around the lake. Glad to have a little real relax time.

    ... was relieved. The farmer gassing his tractor next to me said hello and I carried on the conversation stating I am glad to have found a gas station. He told me I was lucky I stopped as it would be, at the very least, an additional twenty minutes before another town was to be spotted.

    Mendota's fair starts today, but we were not allowed to publicize the circus at the fair, so we stuck to the downtown area again, hoping to catch a few businesses that were closed yesterday.
