After a couple of days catching up with chores we take a drive through another area of Renfrew County. We travel first past Golden Lake again and then to Killaloe. This is a relaxed little town and a couple of shops reflect it's past identity of being a Hippy town. It has a lovely Park, named Killaloe Station Park. These towns were once railway towns and the railway has been replaced with this lovely green area. ...

Our goal this day, was a cruise through some of the famous Rideau Canal - unfortunately, our long streak of good weather ended with a deluge of rain, making this trip impossible. The price you pay for free camping. ...

So we left North Bay late morning (after having our included hot breakfast).

The drive from North Bay to Golden Lake is approximately 4 hours long. The drive from point A to point B is quite beautiful with lots of breath taking scenery.

We stopped several times along the way to go to the bathroom and to stretch our legs.
