... the birthplace of Beavertail's. These are a Canadian bakery delicacy and have been made since 1978. They are a cross between a donut and a fritter. We had a Killaloe Sunrise: batter, deep fried, then sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar with a wedge of lemon. The drive from North Bay to Golden Lake is approximately 4 hours long. The drive from point A to point B is quite beautiful with lots of breath taking scenery.

We stopped several times along the way to go to the bathroom and to stretch our legs.

... engaged in combat during World War II. The memorial was dedicated by President John F Kennedy in May 1963. There are 8 massive 19 ft high granite slabs with all the names of the servicemen inscribed on them, together with an 18 ft high bronze eagle carrying a wreath. The eagle is positioned to face the water and the names of the servicemen. The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian is also down this end of Manhattan. What a stunning collection of material ...
