    Large room, great bed, lots of big towels. good coffee and Wi-Fi that works: all at a great price and close to Front St.

    ... way to increase tourism to the area and they came up with a theme town. The alpine forests beyond the town resemble the mountains in Bavaria. Their idea worked and now over 1 million people a year fill the streets for shopping, eating, and festivals. The town now has an ordinance that everything has to follow this theme. The McDonalds and Subway had to change the appearance of the logos to match the theme.

    ... Weather was pretty iffy most of the day but was a very scenic route. Stopped at Astoria at the Best Western - good hotel - rate $108 plus $15 for George. Was clean and relatively new.     I was excited to see central Washington as it's a place I'd never seen before. The drive from Seattle to Wenatchee was beautiful, driving along US2 was scenic and it was a gorgeous day.
