Colin got back to Tahoe for the last part of our long goodbye. Drop off the river gear and pack up Bertha for our new life of full-time travel. The "wow" factor is huge.

... down that gave us a lighter and wished us well.
We ended up walking 3 miles before setting up camp and realizing we were in black bear country with no rope. Did we want to sleep with our food? The question was answered for us, right on the edge of the campsite laid a big pile of bear poop. We dug a hole to hide the food and called it a night.
I'm pretty tired after a long week of work. It's only 9 but I started falling asleep writing this.!
... was glad I persevered because the AAA clerk was so helpful in providing maps and tour books all the way to FL. Okay, I'm being optimistic that I'll be on the road until FL or further. Her suggestions take me through OK City and Arkansas (take note Shannon/Lyndel and Connie). Of course, I'll have to drive more than a couple hours a day and stay fewer than 5 days in one place if I want to get to FL ...
... we hope they got out okay.
After the very long drive it was late by the time we got to Lake Tahoe and we could only just see the lake which is huge the town is busy all year as they play on the lake during summer and then ski in winter, we passed some very big houses.
We were looking forward to waking in the morning and seeing the lake.
