... but this has changed over the years but football still is god. There is a huge stadium which is just for football and hosts about 6 games a year. Their football season is only about 11 games. Seems such a waste to have a facility so underutilised.

... of the back roads back to South Bend and drove through areas that were predominantly Amish farms. One of the cutest things I saw was a small buggy with 3 small children being pulled by an equally small horse. Miniature of what we had seen in town.
Back in town, we chatted with Madge and then enjoyed a lovely meal of roast stuffed boneless pork and vegetables followed by a piece of her delicious apple pie. More chatting before retiring to bed.
... Michigan City and South Bend so it was actually 6 pm. This will make for some interesting planning for the next couple of days. We need to make sure we make allowances for the time shift when going to the airport. And to complicate matters, daylight saving finishes this weekend.
Enjoyed a lovely dinner of home made soup and Madge's apple pie. Truly delicious. Dealt with the housekeeping - washing before going to bed.
... is large and most sites are in nicely treed areas. There are a few campers but again we have it mostly to ourselves. We took a short walk around the campground then down to the lake. There was one particularly nice viewing area that allowed us to see an amazing variety of birds and waterfowl. Geese giant White Egrets and Blue Herons were our favourite.
