For example, they may start at Springer Mountain in Georgia and hike to the halfway point at Harpers Ferry, WV. Drove over to the Riverfront in Shreveport and checked it out. Really nice area. Four or five casinos. Went and ate lunch at Bodacious Bar-B-Q in Bossier City. It was awesome. We had pulled pork sandwiches and peach cobble!

Among thru-hikers, gear is obsessed about more than any other facet of the trip, and I am no exception. Researching gear has been a ton of fun but I am happy that I am finally done. I'm pleased with my set up and can't wait to hit the trail ...

"Why in the world would you ever want to hike in the cold, freezing rain, and snow across 2,200 miles of the east coast?" That's the question I have been asked most frequently since deciding to hike the entire Appalachian Trail (AT for short). For those of you that don't know what the AT is, it is a footpath that goes from Springer Mountain in Georgia, through 14 states, then ending on Mount Katahdin in ...
