We left Crater of Diamonds SP and headed south back to the Gulf coast and New Orleans. After looking at the map, we decided we should have gone to New Orleans first, then north to AR. A lttle too late then.

The Deep South
... all through much of the year and the injustices that were endured. There was a display of a cotton plant. Knowing my mom’s family all worked together in the fields of Oklahoma picking cotton as sharecroppers, I’m sure she knew that heat and the endless prick of the cotton field. I found, “I Never Picked Cotton,” playing in my head and I was grateful to be the one singing it.

Last day of play

Arose early Wednesday morning and made the drive home to snowy Colorado.
