... and during the hike. A lot of people helped me and, therefore, a lot of cards went out.
- I now have to get all of my trip belongings together and packed, as I’m heading down to Philadelphia tomorrow (Saturday) to run in the half-marathon on Sunday. Then, I’ll be back in Lancaster on Monday and back down to Philadelphia on Tuesday to fly out. It’s going to be a very busy schedule from here on out.
So here we go again, getting ready for another bicycle tour except this time its going to be with two of my friends from back home, steve and brett. This [extended] weekend, we're staying in a wonderful little motel--family owned, specializing in extended stays. So we have a little kitchenette, and a separate bedroom. How refreshing it is to say "Hey I'll be in the other room"
We're in the quaint little Pennsylvania town of Mohnton, and we're staying here just in time for the annual Pumpkin parade!

... and the Amish community was buzzing with activity. We saw farmlands more beautiful than any we've ever seen before.....they looked manicured. We saw examples of many of the Amish 'simple' way of life. Many Amish horse & buggies on the roads.
We spent a couple of hours just driving around and absorbing the Amish way of life and the beauty that surrounds them ...
We had been spoiled the past few nights with four consecutive homestays! We decided it would be best to ease back into hotel living by spending our next night abroad in a bed and breakfast.
Kelsey found a deal for a bed and breakfast that fit our budget.
It was called the Greystone Manor, in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. If you are ever in the area, we recommend it. The manor is surrounded by gorgeous gardens--exotic plants and flowers all around ...

I don't know what I would have done the past two days without the other SIT students... everyone has been more than amazing, sympathetic, and compassionate.
