I just realized that I forgot to tell you about these lovely folks who have taken me in the last two days. Christi is the daughter of my friend Sue Fernstrom, whom I know from my Nutrition Journal Club at home. She asked Christi if I could stay here on my way west, and Christi -- despite undergoing chemo for breast cancer (!!) -- said "sure."
She's incredible and I vowed to do ...
... for me.
We pootled back to the hotel to wait for our ride to Aurora, where we are staying overnight and meeting up with the rest of Tour 6.
A right old mixed bag of people but plenty of interesting stuff to learn and one thing in common, we are crazy enough to chase storms :)
All went out for some dinner and Margaritas with the whole group and then back to the hotel for some sleep.
Im up at 4am again, but itll take a few days to settle in.
The weather models ...
... Denver. Thanks, Tom!
Despite the fact that last night Denver was predicted to get 4-6 inches of snow, the roads are clear and we're at DIA (Denver International Airport) in no time. We leave our coats, hats and gloves in the car, (pretty sure we won't need them), bid Tom farewell and scurry into the terminal.
We're flying Southwest and paid them to do our boarding numbers for us, so we are in the "A" group. We get our seats in row 6. ...
Pat and Dave Cocetti were both home when we arrived around 2pm at Krameria street in Palos Verdes. I was ages 4 to 12 when we lived in Denver on Krameria so to me they are like an extension of my family so ...
Today my assignment was to do some open water swimming and get on my bike to do some climbing. Both were great successes! I did the same exact open water swim that I did last Sunday in 6 less minutes, and it took me 38 minutes rather than 45 minutes to climb up Deer Creek canyon. Yeah! I felt really good on my bike, much stronger than when I did that workout one month ...

Although a way out from the city centre, there is a free shuttle that runs every hour which is very easy. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is good. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel is fairly disappointing and if you have the option of eating elsewhere then I would recommend it! The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
