What a miserable place!
It's hot as hell, the water in the pool looks like someone poured milk into it, and there is nothing to do in the area.
This is our own fault. We completely spaced about the holiday weekend and this was the ONLY place we could find available anywhere near where we want to go next.

During the preparation for this trip I guided some folk (two sets of neighbours) who invited me to bring the family to visit them in North Carolina. Their place was an amazing lake house with heaps of room for us to abandon the R.V for a couple of days .

Our alarm went off at 5:00 a.m. this morning and we dragged ourselves out of bed to finish our last minute packing of toiletries, etc. and pack our cooler bag with the sandwiches and salads purchased yesterday for us to enjoy on the bus later today. Since we arrived at WDW last Thursday evening, we have only had approximately four to five hours of sleep each night. There has just been so much to do and not enough hours in the day to fit it ...
After a long day of driving, we have arrived in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina at the Hampton Inn. We are staying here overnight to rest up and stretch our legs before our final leg of the trip tomorrow morning at 7:00. We stayed at this same hotel location last year. It is super clean, modern and has a great staff. There is a nice complimentary hot/cold breakfast buffet for us in the morning beginning at 6:00. ...
