Houston, we're not Kennedy Space Center

Our main reason for being in Houston was to visit the Johnson Space Center (JSC). We arrived at 10am and got a spot right by the entrance, because there were not many people there. We immediately jumped on the site tour. First stop was the actual ground control center used for the 60s to 80s rocket launches. The current ground control center is one floor down. Another drive today, this time to Seabrook which is 20 minutes south of Houston. It was a 4 hour drive and we were surprised by the amount of greenery and trees around during the drive. ... salmon tartare and I had a ceasar salad with two huge anchovie filets reclining immodestly across it. We both had steak that was cooked to perfection and so big neither of us could finish. Great service and lovely food.

By 9:00 it seemed almost balmy outside so we took a little walk (Annette’s Misfit shows we walked 3.4 miles today) and then felt so proud of it we went to the Garden Café for soft serve ice cream.

... each one being about 1.5 miles long. We started with the right hand side trail then went on the middle trail. We stopped by and saw a couple of bison (fenced in) a a couple hawks (also caged). Today at one point as we were crossing on a boardwalk when I actually saw a snake right beside Karen. I said "SNAKE!" and Karen said "WHERE?" but it sounded more like "WAH-HARE?" as she was high-stepping around in a circle. It was quite funny. ...
