(occasionally the photos are out of date). He says, "Yes, do you know Colonel Slocum?" I said, "Yes, I didn't realize he was here." The day has finally arrived when Johnnie and I are off to Australia. We have both been up since 5:30 this morning with very little sleep. ... beginning. It started out chilly and perfectly sunny, an absolutely gorgeous day to ride. We took our time and rode a large part of the ride against the wind. We stopped a few times (when you have to pee and your in the middle of nowhere, you have to find a way to make it work) to stretch and chit-chat; we stopped at a CVS for some more sunscreen (my tan line is already hugely and grossly distinctive). We met up with the group for lunch not too long after that. ...

... in Chocowinity... One of friendliest small towns I've seen. We found a free little festival where we jumped in bounce houses, raced little kids down slides, and found some great music. We were doing line dancing with some older folks and then we even got called on stage as a group to sing and dance!!! It was an absolute blast - pictures are attached! I now understand why everyone loves this ...
