Next stop, San Fransisco. Since visiting 10 years ago, James has been desperate to return. Unfortunately at some point during our trip in Mexico, he picked up a bug so within minutes of arriving at our accommodation, James retreated to bed; which is where he stayed for most of the time in San Fransisco. The nurse in me emerged long enough for me to buy him water, healthy food and tuck him up in bed before heading off to explore the city.

Gisteravond vergeten mijn wekker uit te zetten en dus was ik vanmorgen om 7 uur wakker. Daisy knort nog lekker door. Ik vat ook weer de slaap. Om half 10 gaan we uit bed en pakken we de spullen en maken we ons klaar om te vertrekken. Om half 11 rijden we het Bug terrein af nadat we hebben uitgecheckt. Sequoia National Parc is onze volgende bestemming. We doen er ongeveer twee en half uur over om bij Kings Canyon te komen. ...

We slept. We drove. We ate. We watched tv. Basically we did nothing you could be interested in, but days like this just gotta be enjoyed sometimes... And when a room is only slightly dirty, but even has a sofa, that is reason enough to open our bottle of Paradise Ridge Zinfandel of the Hoenselaars Vineyard in the Russian River Valley, Sonoma County. Cheers to Hans and cheers to everyone we love and miss!

... provolone sndwich, and Monika a turkey and provolone with some lettuce. Huge sandwiches for 7$ each, really worth til the last penny.
Back to hotel for a shower and check out. We are heading now for Yosemite NP, but we want to cross the Golden Gate and make a stop at Sausalito. We are so lucky, payment for the toll at Golden Gate is only for entry to SF, not for exit (6$ saving!!). All 3 days at SF have been ...
