We got up at 6 am and had our last breakfast in Venice. This has been a wonderful trip and I am sad to see it end.
We headed for the airport at 10:30 am. No dragging our suitcase across the cobblestones this time. We had a taxi pickup our luggage at the hotel. He had a cart and moved the bags. Drive to the airport was about 20 minutes. Once ...

recognized who I was. What a joy. The long trip there, at that moment, felt all worthwhile. A tear came to my eye as I held her hand, asking her questions before the other relatives arrived.
The rest of the day we spent with other relatives. Fourteen in all. My Aunt hosted us for lunch in Mount Albert ...
... to stay at a Best Western, have a good bed, internet and do laundry. The last two days we did not have cell phone reception. We saw phone booths at funny place we stopped and asked if they had internet, they responded "yes, $3 for 3 minutes of dial-up. They also had stuffed wolves and bears for sale so go figure. Tomorrow (July 4) we are going to Niagra Falls-on the Canada side and hope to take the Maid of the Mist under the falls. Nels

Barrie, Ontario, Canada silverbirchWe're out of Toronto into trees and fields. Even on a Saturday we saw people working in Toronto - crazy! There are many photogenic moments that I've seen in the blink of an eye, too quick to capture. When our train was traveling past a rainy marsh, I caught a glimpse of a monarch fluttering erratically by our window - the butterfly looked still ...
Washago, Ontario, Canada lollyAfter a long 7 and a half hour flight Leaving Canada landing in Gatwick London airport I found myself alone and waiting. Excited as I was and not knowing a thing about England my first experience of British culture was not that welcoming at all to say the least. Tired, Alone, and wondering when that boy would show. Curious of this new life I had coming for me, I stepped off the coach bus and had a drunken man yell in my face...................

Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada wasagadave... lights and incessant bleeping, but fascinating to watch. Kyle took us around and explained the fundamental features of black jack and ***** which was really intriguing, but we didn't feel the need to partake with the tight budget we were on, and there was something daunting about the oldies feeding coins into the pokies and practically drooling in their flashing light-induced stupor. We wound up at one of the two of Orillia's nightclubs (both called ...
Orillia, Ontario, Canada alicecrabtree... sentinmental. We couldn't resist taking home a handful of barley from the familiy farm fields to remember it by. Uncle Roy took us to the heritage museum where we explored the pioneering farm equipment, tools and buildings. We were amazed how people got on so well in the early 1900s without all our modern conveniences. We certainly had a greater respect for the struggles of early rural pioneers. Karin's family heirlooms were now also being housed and shown including a hand-crafted ...
