Historical Traveler Reviews of Quality Hotel Vancouver - Inn At False Creek

Quality Inn @ False Creek

from EJ1
The hotel was in a good location for Granville Island and serviced by the airporter bus which was handy for getting to/from the airport.

The room we had was huge including a fully functional kitchen, decoration was a bit bland, but ok. My only problem was on arrival at 6pm our room was still not ready even though check-in is from 4pm. I just waned to get to my room after being up for almost 24 hrs due to flying from UK to Canada, so was a bit unhappy. Apart from that no complaints, a perfectly good hotel for a couple of nights, nothing special. The restaurant at the hotel served good food, perhaps a little overpriced.

Great Stay

Had a great stay before and after our cruise at the Quality Inn. The staff gets the highest rating for service and helpfulness. They gave us very good suggestions for restaurants and excursions. Location is close to beach area and city centre. Room was clean and comfortable. The food at the hotel resaurant was very good. We would stay there again.

Good value in Downtown Vancouver

Booked the Quality Inn via the internet having read the reviews here. I would echo much of what others say - the hotel is clean and good value and well located for getting around , the rooms are large and the staff are very helpful. We asked for a room at the back (and I would definitely recommend this!) so we were not troubled by traffic noise, the pool though small was a welcome sight for our 11 yr old . We did not try the restaurant as there are plenty of alternatives nearby (especially on Granville Island). All in all we were thoroughly impressed with the Quality Inn and would go back if we ever go to Vancouver again.

Great location

stayed here for 10 nights august 2005 hotel ideally situated for exploring vancouver transport system runs frequently outside hotel, excellent for walking to attractions. hotel staff very helpful and friendly always there to advise you. we stayed in a king size suite, although the rooms are in need of renovation but they are very well equiped and large, the only downside is the swimming pool is very small not ideal if you like a good swim.

Good value for downtown location

Stayed for 5 nights - Hotel was OK, staff was very courteous, room was clean. Only advice is if you are not used to city noise, ask for a room at the back of the hotel not facing Howe Street, as it's an entrance for a busy bridge during the week, but we didn't mind, the room had A/C and double windows, so it was OK for us. Restaurant is good too... Would definitely go back to the Quality Inn @ False Creek !

Great surprise for price, good bargain option

from opinco
I booked this hotel online while looking for a hotel under $100 a night. I think it was around $90 US a night for a fill size room with two beds and a kitchenette. We were really surprised as we were expecting a pretty dingy place. It was rather nice. We stayed up on the top floor. For a family of 4 or so it was a true bargain. It is one block from a busy street where you can catch buses into other parts of downtown. It was 1.5 blocks from the ferry along the river, so we could cross to Grandville island where they have a kids play area, a huge indoor market and restuarants along the warf. My son especially loved the train musuem.

Our room was simple but clean. We were traveling with 4 year old and I was very happy to have a fully enclosed balcany with windows that did not open but 2 inches so no falling out, but plenty of breezes and lots of neat rain storms to watch. The kitchen was a wonderful treat, as we could eat breakfast, it was a full size stove and fridge, dated but no one cared.

The small pool out back was private enough and very warm, even for cool rainy evening swimming. We were the only ones we saw using it.

The hotel entrance was pretty nice, tile floors and a plenty of staff. The staff was super helpful in getting us to all attractions and could have a taxi there in 3 minutes. Our only complaint was the resturaunt was a bit slow and expensive but if you didn't want to go out on a rainy morning or evening you could order something off the menu.

My other main concern would be if we had been on the 2-3 floors on the front side, there may have been road traffic noise but up so high, it was wonderful. The whole neighborhood is being remodeled with gorgeous shiny modern high rise apartments and was a very safe clean part of town to stay. We saw some not so desirable streets nearby but they seem to be easily avoidable and going by the wayside.

I recommend for family traveling if you can't afford much over $100 a night.

Conveniently located

from A TripAdvisor Member
Disturbed by inconsiderate noisy neighbours two nights out of four, with antics in the hallway and slamming doors. Took all day to get an iron delivered when the room proved not to have one, and noisy bathroom extractor fan simply dismantled and never fixed. Lovely rooms tho, very helpful staff and maid service (except for the iron) and convieniently located for us as we had no car. Noisy neighbours were not the hotels fault, iron not too much of a problem as I hate ironing anyway, and once the extractor fan was disconnected there was no more rattling from it.

Ps, loved the balcony and views, all enclosed (tho the windows could've opened further) and able to use it even on wet days.

Nice hotel, good location

I stayed here for Vancouver Marathon weekend. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to B.C Place. The room was very spacious and clean. All of the staff from the desk clerks to the housekeepers were very friendly and helpful. Just as another reviewer commented on, I too found my street facing room a bit noisy from the heavy traffic. I booked online and paid 125 CDN a night and parking was extra. For downtown Vancouver, I found that to be very reasonable. I would gladly stay here again.

Looked forward to leaving

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in July 2004 to start of our tour of BC and Alberta, as a wheelchair user we chose this hotel for their facilities. After a transatlantic flight we arrived very tired to find our specially arranged room was not availlable. Staff were unconcerned, unhelpful to the point of being rude. We were told that they wouldn't guarantee the room for our return in 2 weeks, so we didnt come backand found another hotel. ! Location ok but front of hotel very noisy, restaurant was ok.We wouldn't reccomend this hotel to anybody- certainly not anybody using a wheelchair!

Great staff

Stayed here in September 2004, got very good rate through internet booking which the hotel then matched when we returned later on in our holiday. The staff were wonderfully helpful. We were able to check into our room very early each time we arrived, the room was nice, spacious, clean and had coffee maker, kettle, iron, hairdryer...even robes! I would recommend trying to get a room at the back of the hotel as the front could be noisy. We ate breakfast in the restaurant as it was very reasonably priced. Again, it was the staff who really made it worthwhile and I would highly recommend this hotel.
