... shop and cafe and a memorial to the Russian soldiers who lost their lives during WW2 helping Norway and it was bleak. The landscape surrounding the centre is bleak with nothing but mountains to break the flat plains either side of the road. But it was a great place to stop for a cuppa and to buy the obligatory souvenirs. We continued towards moi I rana. We wanted to look at Norway's second largest glacier - svartisen but decided that could wait ...

We can see how it will virtually be daylight 24hrs in a couple of months, the sun just seems to hang in the sky longer and longer. The temperatures are warming, with days hovering around 0 deg not uncommon.

Fortunately the snow is well established and the conditions are perfect. ...

... snowboarder with the dilemma of keeping enough speed up to get over, but exerting enough control to avoid all the ( non-Swedish ) skiers tooling around on the path ! With much rolling of eyes, Jeff & I grabbed a T-bar each and prepared ourselves for what was a VERY VERY long T-bar ride. The wind was really starting to howl, snow getting in behind our goggles ( ! ) and to make matters interesting, the path of the T-bar crossed several ski runs, at which point ...
