... occasions, and for some unknown reason, go out the front to continue chatting and drinking, this of course is right out the front of my room. This happened on both nights till the wee hours of the morning so i didn't get much sleep on both nights making for some tired days.
The Friday night Kamil and myself along with Sam, from Albany W.A, hit the town, we went to the Broadway Pub for a few drinks, upstairs seemed to be a private function but were letting people in later on in the night ...
... of the lights on the opposite side of the field. Unlike in the US, where the field would have been immediately cleared, the Aussies kept going. The game had a 30 minute delay, where the hard core fans and us waited it out in the rain with our stubbies. Newcastle went on to beat Brisbane!
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia bradandsandiWe left sydney around 11am with the van, fortunately, is wasn't too vulgar as a lot of the "wicked vans" (the company name) have some unsightely art on the sides. It says schools out on one side and show a school bus on the other. On the back there is a quote as well that is a bit crude but I figure we got lucky. haha We stumbled across a wild animal park on the way to Frazer ...
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia struchen... should give me the "prod" I need to get going. Bottom line is I've decided to dig myself out of a rut. This will include, somewheres along the line, writing more blog entries, complete with photos and horrific stories of space travel and alligator wrestling! Well, not really. But that would be cool.
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia fuzzyhatjon... providers require that you are insured at home. So for anyone planning an extended trip, don't cancel your provincial health insurance when you travel. I think my flight has left. I originally thought it was on the 7th, but the more I think about it, it was probably on the 5th. So I am now without a net. No health and no way to get back home. Kind of out of my comfort zone a bit, but I guess it's something that should be pushed once and a ...
Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia fuzzyhatjon... have disturbed her, and unfortunately few of us had our cameras ready. Greg, the owner, described the habits of his resident koalas and showed us all the various leaves that they enjoy on his property. However, the koalas decided not to show themselves to our group. We then drove through Anna Bay (originally named Hannah Bay, but renamed to "Anna" since that is how everyone pronounced it!) to Birubi Point and the sand dunes. I think we were all ...
Newcastle, Australia jalaw... up, we decided to 'push the boat out' as it were and staying in a caravan - what luxury eh?! Stranded in Batemans Bay for a couple of days, the guys at the car garage were great and really looked after us while we sorted ourselves out and organised a hire car back to get us and all our belongings back to Sydney. We even ended up being put up by a random girl for the night in a place called Ulladulla so that we could easily ...
Sydney, Australia vicandgiggs... be top tourist sites. Not quite there at the moment in our eyes. Newcastle was our next destination. Another couple of hours down the coast. Newcastle has a huge mining and steel industry just like its twin cities in England and Canada. We decided to camp up in a place called Stockton, just north of the city centre. A very nice campsite and reasonably priced compared to the price of staying in the city centre. While we were staying here, there was one thing we HAD to do .... Quadbiking ...
New South Wales (North), Australia ontherun... constant battle, ya have to spray em for about 5mins before they even start to slow in pace and by that time youve usually done a few laps of the house. haha but yesturday tom stood on one (accidentally) with no shoes or socks on..haha loser, and then proceeded in doin a lame jumpin dance around the room whilst screamin like a girl. hilarious. A Jap guy has moved into the house with us, he's called Yuki (i reckon) and theres a bit of a language ...
Newcastle, Australia gnarlytomI flew into Newcastle and arrived only an hour later than I was scheduled. Al's mate Matt picked us up at the airport, and I had a brief driving tour of the city on the way to Matt's house. We stayed in Newcastle for two days, went on a walk around the University, went out on the town to a swanky bar, ate Vietnamese for the first time and generally hung out and relaxed in a house and real bed for the first time in way too long!!!
