... the Swiss flag. We were entertained with a show of Swiss music, singing, dancing etc which had been going since the 1940s. Swiss alpine horns, bells, coins, broomstick, saw, spoons and traditional instruments were demonstrated. Audience members were asked to try the alpine horns and have a go at yodeling. Much fun and laugher had by all, not least of all when a black and white " cow" appeared and circled around the crowd with her long licky tongue. Perfect end to a perfect ...

... able to look down on clouds over other mountains. We braved the ice flier which takes you over the glacier for a good kilometre - it sat 6 just like a chair lift. Then over the suspension bridge before entering the ice cave. Quite amazing and no one tried to see how cold the ice was with their tongue! Then time for lunch and ......... Ashleigh finally had chicken schnitzel!!!Scott and the girls then tried to build a snowman but the snow as too hard.Coming back down ...

... eternal snow exists even in the summer sun. The drive to Engleberg was fabulous passing through villages built into the side of the mountains, again beautiful green fields with many Swiss cows with their bells around the neck, so they can be found in the fog, many timber fellas getting their supplies ready for the cold winter months. On our arrival we boarded the gondola from Engelberg to Trubsee station, then the cable car ...

The bus took us over the Albis Pass to Weggis where we caught a cable car a long way up Mt Rigi (to 1,200 metres), and then we transferred to a cog-wheel train (the first in Europe) to take us to the summit. We were sort of "set free" at Weggis, given the tickets for everything we needed and told to meet the coach in Lucerne at 6pm.
